June 2003 | Writing Drama for Television Lab

commissioned by Film London

As part of the East London Moving Image Initiative, the London Film and Video Development Agency (now Film London) commissioned a Lab programme on writing for television drama, for writers from specific inner-London boroughs.

The programme started with a five-day residential Lab. Six months later, a two-day mini-Lab was held in London allowing the writers to work on their developed scripts with the mentors and the actors. One week later, a visitors’ day, held at the Actors Centre, Covent Garden, saw rehearsed readings of selected scenes, presented by their authors, to an appreciative audience of producers and agents.
